do you know what BLYTHE is?
Born in America in1972, but only manufactured for one year, Blythe has become a hot
collector's item on internet auction sites such as E-Bay.com.
The reason for Blythe's recent popularity after all these years? New York-based video
producer and doll collector Gina Garan's photobook, THIS IS BLYTHE , published by Chronicle Books.
While in New York, before the publication, Gina showed galleys of THIS IS BLYTHE to CWC
executive producer Junko Wong.Impressed by both Gina's passion and Blythe's cute looks,
Junko introduced Blythe to Japan.
Immediately seeing Blythe's appeal, Parco chose Blythe to be the "image girl" for the Christmas
and Grand Chance Campaign for 2000. Tokyo-based publisher, P.I.E. Books imports THIS IS BLYTHE from
Chronicle Books.

who is BLYTHE?
Blythe is the doll every other doll wants to be: plucky, free-spirited, and well-accessorized.
She's on the go. She's everywhere.
Born in 1972 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was produced by the Kenner Corporation in four
original styles - blonde, brunette, redhead, and black hair - with four fruit-colored wigs and twelve
amazing outfits available in the "Blythe's Boutique" line. Her eyes change direction and color, from blue to
orange to green to pink, at the pull of a string on the back of her head. She's sweet and crafty,
a good girl, a bad girl, and just a little spooky. She lives in a world much like our own, but more fun.
While only 12" tall, she's always the center of attention.
Coveted by collectors around the world, she travels the globe and does as she pleases.
